Switching from a bulky fifth wheel hitch to haul cargo often requires removing heavy hardware from your bed. This pin box converts your trailer to a gooseneck, reducing in-bed equipment while adding dual-axis cushioning for smoother towing.
Hauling cargo between trips gets old fast when a large fifth wheel hitch takes up your bed. This pin box converts compatible fifth wheel trailers to a gooseneck connection, moving the towing point to a single ball connection. Your bed stays open for cargo runs once the bulky in-bed hitch is out of the way.
Long towing days can send vertical bounce and front-to-back movement through your trailer connection. Dual-axis cushioning absorbs up-and-down and front-to-back movement during travel. The trailer connection keeps motion controlled as the road surface changes.
Rough pavement can send sharp jolts through a rigid towing setup. SumoSprings suspension creates dynamic dampening over rough roads, giving road shock a place to compress through the connection. The trailer keeps tracking through uneven pavement with less harsh feedback at the hitch point.
Hooking up a gooseneck takes careful positioning when the coupler target is small. Large funnel design gives the coupler a wider lead-in area as your trailer settles onto the ball. Coupling lines up with a broader target, and the easy-reach latch cable releases the coupler from an accessible position.

Everything was perfect!
I waited for a couple weeks to get a good perspective with the new hitch. After driving I 40 through New Mexico and several states I can honestly say this is my best hitch in 22 years of experience towing. Some chucking still happens but diminish by at least 75%. F-350 towing a Momentum 320 fully loaded with 2 Harley’s.
I installed the BW 73RV pin box and I am impressed. It is a very sturdy unit and was easy to install and adjust. I like that the chains have safety hooks on both ends so you can hook to the truck first and don't have to crawl in the bed to hook up chains after connecting the fifth wheel. I did have to buy a good padlock to secure the hitch since a standard gooseneck lock will not fit. It would be nice if B&W made a good theft deterrent lock for this pinbox. I have only driven a short distance with the hitch but it seems very smooth. We have a trip coming up and I'm excited to see how it does

B&W makes some great products. Where do you plan on taking the trailer now that you are all set up?
